First, look for a bucket where you will grow your tomato plants. Once you already have a bucket, make a hole in the button of the bucket. To be a bit accurate, your tomato plant should be planted first in a plastic cup. The hole that you will be making on the bottom of the bucket should be half or smaller than the size of the mouth of the plastic cup. Once you already made a hole on the bucket, turn it over and cover the hole with a paper. The next step that you should do is to put garden soil in the bucket. When filling the bucket with soil, see to it to leave an allowance of about 2 to 3 inches in the top of the bucket. Once the bucket is already filled with soil, cover it and flip it once again upside down.
The next step on how to grow upside down tomatoes is to remove the paper that you placed to cover the hole that you made earlier. Dig in the hole as deep as you can. The reason for leaving 2 to 3 inches allowance (when you filled the bucket with the soil) is for you to be able to dig deep in the bottom of the bucket. Remove your tomato plant from the plastic cup and plant it to the bucket. Be sure to firmly plant it. Remove all leaves that are near the soil. The next step would be to hang the bucket upside down. What you have to do next is just to take care of your upside down grown tomatoes. Water it regularly as it tends to dry faster as compared with growing tomatoes in the ground.
